Matching the client’s needs with your capabilities
You offer excellent services or have a unique project idea and now you are faced with the challenge of gaining access to funding: will you respond to a request for services, a Call for Proposals or approach the donor organisation directly? One thing is sure: an attractive, convincing and honest proposal will increase your chances manifold.
You are a manager or staff member working for an organisation such as a consultancy firm, NGO or Government institute and you are involved in writing project proposals in response to tenders for services or grants.*
A good understanding of the client’s needs and how to turn them into a convincing strategy in line with your organisation’s capabilities is winning half the battle. At the end of this course you: • Understand the context of the client’s demands, the contents of a tender dossier (request for service proposal) and guidelines for calls for proposal (grants) • Have mapped the organisation of your writing process and considered pros and cons of partnership forming • Have written bits and pieces of the explained building blocks of a good proposal • Know how to apply the tools to complete a successful offer
