Cursus: Managing for Development Results

Training period:
22 – 25 May 2012
20 – 23 November 2012

Beyond good intentions
Development and international cooperation are constantly under pressure to become more effective and accountable. Consequently, Managing for Development Results has rapidly gained importance. However, what does this management strategy exactly
mean? Where to begin, whom to involve and where to look for assistance?

Participants:
You (and your organisation) are particularly interested in focussing more on development results. You are looking for acomprehensive overview of available tools, donor and partner country experiences and the present debate. You are willing to reflect seriously on your own organisation’s performance and on the possibilities for a stronger result-based orientation.

Course Objectives:
At the end of this course you will be able to link MfDR clearly with the overall debate around Aid Effectiveness. You will understand MfDR better and you will have identified opportunities to strengthen the result focus of your organisation.

After an update on the present debate, you will look more closely at key MfDR principles and features. While doing so, you will come across specific central MfDR tools, such as result chains and key performance indicators.
