Cursus: International Advisory Trail

Become a certified international adviser
This is a unique and individually blended learning trajectory which enables international advisers, or those who aspire to become one, to complement existing advisory competencies and to become a ‘Certified International Adviser’.

Participants:
You have working experience or are currently working as an adviser in international cooperation. You are highly motivated to reflect on and to develop your advisory competencies. Participants in the IAT are typically professional advisers engaged in internal or external advisory processes in a wide variety of development related sectors in many countries.

How does the IAT process work?
Before and during the intake period you will compile your advisory portfolio, which will be the basis on which an assesor will assess you. The intake assessment will provide you with input for an individual learning trail, which you will design in cooperation with your coach. Your coach will guide you throughout the trail. Once you have established with your coach that you have reached your learning objectives, you will participate in a final assessment. After having passed the final assessment you will receive a diploma for being a ‘Certified International Adviser’. On average, completion of the trail takes one to one and a half years.

Blended Learning Trail

• Develop your advisory competencies according to the twelve competencies (see illustration)
• Learn on the job through carefully selected assignments
• Combine training, coaching, peer review, exposure, distance learning and experiential learning in one package that suits you best

Final Assessment

• Be assessed according to international standards, either face to face or by e-test
