Cursus: Gender Mainstreaming in Projects and Programmes

Training Period:
22 October – 2 November 2012

Feel more confident dealing with gender issues
Assuring that equal numbers of men and women are participating is a measure taken. But what else needs to be done to redress imbalance in the respective positions of men and women? There will be a focus on your role as an agent of change in your organisation. You will practise with different tools and issues regarding gender inclusion and mainstreaming.

This course aims at project staff, advisers, desk officers, trainers and consultants, involved in facilitating integration of non discriminatory behaviour and equality between men and women. For this particular course familiarity with project cycle management is beneficial.

Course Objectives:
At the end of this 10 day course you are able to:

  • apply a gender perspective in the life cycle of a development intervention; in identification, formulation, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  • apply an Appreciative Inquiry approach at relevant stages of the project or programme
  • design project and programmes, monitor and evaluate on gender equality and act as a change agent in the change process
  • prepare a gender assessment of your organisation and your workplace

During the course you visit different organisations, you will work on own or participant’s case materials.
