In cooperation with the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM), the Dutch section of Amnesty International celebrates the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International with a symposium on the work done and the expectations for the future. At this symposium, a SIM Special on 50 years of Amnesty International will be presented.

Keynote speakers are Ms Lilian Gon*alves, former chair of Amnesty International the Netherlands and former chair of the International Executive Committee of Amnesty International and Mr Stephen Hopgood, Senior Lecturer on International Relations at the University of London.

Guest-speakers are Ms Nicola Jägers, Associate professor at Tilburg University, Ms Anja Mihr, Associate Professor at the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM), Utrecht University, Ms Jenny Goldschmidt, Professor in human rights law and Director of SIM, Utrecht University, and Mr Eduard Nazarski, Director of the Dutch section of Amnesty International.

After the symposium there will be an informal reception.
